Recent advances in fundraising data science are really exciting for our industry, but sometimes all your shop needs is a model to identify major gift prospects. In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to build a major gift model using Microsoft Excel and sample donor data. This session will cover the regression modeling process from cleaning and preparing the data through building and evaluating the model.
To get the most out of this session, participants should have basic knowledge of major gift fundraising, experience working with donor data, and intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel (e.g. ability to navigate an Excel workbook, format cells, copy/paste, find/replace, and IF statements; knowledge of pivot tables is also helpful, but not required).
Please note: this is a hands-on program. Participants will need to bring their own laptops. Please arrive by 9:15 A.M. to register and set up your laptop. The workshop will begin promptly at 9:30.
