2024 Ann Castle Award Recipient: Barbara Moore Assistant Vice President II, Prospect Research Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Barbara is currently Assistant Vice President II of Prospect Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, one of the leading cancer research and care centers in the United States. In this role, she oversees eleven staff engaged in prospect research, identification, management, and analytics. She joined Dana-Farber in 2001 and has helped the Division of Philanthropy grow its annual revenue from $80M to over $400M during her tenure. Barbara previously worked in fundraising at a technology trade association and at a public-private partnership. She is a graduate of Wheaton College and earned a master’s degree in library science at Simmons University. Barbara served on the NEDRA board from 2009-2012, including serving as President from 2009-2010. More recently, she has volunteered with several parent groups in Danvers, MA.
Barbara is known for creating a powerhouse research department at Dana-Farber and for her leadership and development of her current team and other leaders in the prospect development community. Former and current team members have described Barbara as “an amazing mentor” who gives people the space to be innovative, supports and encourages growth, and acknowledges work and achievement. One noted that thanks to her mentorship, “I have unwavering confidence in my research capabilities.” Another stated, “I don’t know anyone who is more deserving of this award.” |
