This Bootcamp program will be repeated in the Boston area at a later date in the winter/spring.


PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

Research Basics Bootcamp is a full day of instruction in the essentials of prospect research. This training is a must for those new to research or those who have had research added to their roles. No experience in the field is necessary to begin learning how to apply professional research methodologies.This full day of learning will cover such subjects as:

  • The Strategic Role of Advancement Research
  • Prospect Research Fundamentals
  • The Ethical Researcher
  • Advancement Research Sources and Methodology
  • Assessing Gift Capacity
  • Presenting Research


FACULTY:

Lisa Foster is the Director of Prospect Development at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. Lisa has served as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors of NEDRA and was the Conference Co-Chair for two NEDRA conferences. Lisa recently stepped down as a Director of the Haverhill Foundation for Excellence in Education after serving as a director for over twenty years.


Meghan Hakanson is an assistant director at Harvard University. She joined the research team in 2012 and currently works with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Graduate School of Education and the University Development Office. Meghan co-teaches Research Toolkit which is a training class for affiliates across Harvard University. She served on the reunion committee for her undergraduate alma mater, Dickinson College, where she was involved with solicitation, marketing and reunion planning for her tenth reunion. She is a past member of the Junior League of Boston and served as a member of the development committee. Meghan previously served as vice president of programming for her sorority, Pi Beta Phi Bostonian Alumnae Association. Meghan currently serves as a member of the development committee of New Roads Catholic Community in Belmont, MA. Meghan received her BA from Dickinson College and her MA from American University in American History.

From the South (via I-95)
Take Exit 7 off I-95 (Downtown Portsmouth). Turn right off the exit and proceed for approximately 1/2 mile. Bear right at the blinking light and the hotel entrance is on the left.
