PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: 


Calling all interns, student workers, volunteers, and anyone who has an interest in learning more about prospect development! Come join us for this FREE webinar where we will provide a basic introduction to the field meant to spark interest, share some simple research techniques, and offer advice on how to begin a career in prospect development. Attendees will come away with:

  • A basic understanding of what tasks and skills are involved in prospect research, prospect management, and data analytics
  • Tips and tricks for finding contact information and biographical data on prospects
  • Advice for entering the field of prospect development and job searching

Anyone who manages or interacts with interns, student workers, and volunteers should encourage them to attend this program!


PRESENTERS:

Emily Donohue has worked in the field of prospect development for over 17 years and is the Senior Director of Prospect Management and Research at UMass Boston. She was previously Director of Prospect Development at Simmons University. Emily has also held positions in prospect development at Emmanuel College and Combined Jewish Philanthropies. She currently serves as Vice President of the NEDRA Board of Directors and is a past co-chair of the programming committee. Emily received a BA in history from Kenyon College and an MLS from Simmons University.


April Genung is a research analyst on the prospect development team at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. She previously worked in prospect development at Bowdoin College, UC Davis, and Amherst College. April has served on the NEDRA Board of Directors since 2020 and currently co-chairs the Diversity and Inclusion and Advocacy/Professional Development committees. A native of Central California, she has lived in New England for over a dozen years and has called Maine home since 2018. April holds an MA from UMass Amherst and an undergraduate degree from UC Davis, both in English literature.


COST:

In the spirit of inclusion and bringing a more diverse community into the field of prospect research and development, we are offering this program at no cost.


LOCATION:

Attendees will receive a Zoom link a day before the event; this program will be held as a Zoom meeting.
