NEDRA presents a full day of instruction in the essentials of prospect research. This training is a must for those new to research, or those who have had research added to their roles. No experience in the field is necessary to begin learning how to apply professional research methodologies. This full day of learning will cover such subjects as:

• The Strategic Role of Advancement Research
• Prospect Research Fundamentals
• The Ethical Researcher
• Advancement Research Sources and Methodology
• Assessing Gift Capacity
• Presenting Research

NOTE: Morning light refreshments, lunch, and afternoon snacks will all be served.

Faculty:

Roslyn Clarke is an assistant director of research at Harvard University’s Office of Alumni Affairs and Development. She is responsible for education and training for development research and specializes in the financial industry. Roslyn also leads research efforts for the principal gifts team and New York fundraising region while working to educate gift officers on wealth and philanthropic trends. Including positions at Brown University and Hebrew SeniorLife, Roslyn has ten years of prospect research experience.

Nancy Faughnan is a senior research analyst at Yale University. She has over 20 years’ experience in prospect research and has managed many projects in Yale Development Research, including its parents program research initiative, prospect identification, and staff orientation. She is active as a freelancer in prospect research and is a former board member of the New England Development Research Association (NEDRA).

Driving Directions:

 

From Hartford and points North:

Take I-91 south to Exit 22 for Route 9 southbound.

At exit 15, turn right onto Route 66 West (Washington Street), then turn left onto High Street.

Take the 2nd right on to Wyllys Avenue.

Parking Lot E will be on your right after passing the Usdan University Center.

 

From New Haven, New York and points South:

Take I-95 North to I-91 North.

At exit 18, take Route 691/66 East.

Route 66 becomes Washington Street in Middletown.

Take right onto High Street.

OR take I-95 north to the Merritt/Wilbur Cross Parkway (Route 15 North) to Route 66 Eastbound. Take right onto High Street.

Take the 2nd right on to Wyllys.

 

From Boston and points Northeast:

Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) West to Exit 9 for I-84 West to Hartford.

Take exit 57 over the Charter Oak Bridge and follow the signs to I-91 South.

Take I-91 south to exit 22 for Route 9 Southbound.

At exit 15, turn right onto Route 66 West (Washington Street), then turn left onto High Street.

Take the 2nd right on to Wyllys Avenue.

Parking Lot E will be on your right after passing the Usdan University Center.

OR take I-95 South through Providence, then take Exit 69 to Route 9 North (approximately 26 miles to Middletown).

At exit 15, turn left on to Washington Street (Route 66), turn left onto High Street.

Take the 2nd right on to Wyllys Avenue.

Parking Lot E will be on your right after passing the Usdan University Center.
