    It seems that the Great Recession is similar to the Great Depression in one more way - the drastic drop in large charitable gifts.

Statistics show that over the past year, unemployment among US college graduates younger than 25 has averaged 8.5 percent. That's better than the 9.5 percent recorded in 2011 but much higher than the 5.4 percent seen in the year preceding the recession that began at the end of 2007."
